Formerly the Browning Hotel, built in 1917, and located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, Ferguson Apartments includes 101 studio apartments which were renovated in 2021. Additionally, Ferguson Apartments offers 18 affordable studio or one-bedroom apartments where Housing Choice Vouchers may be utilized.
This community is walkable to many of Grand Rapids nearby restaurants, parks, and entertainment venues. Ferguson Apartments is a designated smoke-free community with amenities including an open rooftop community space overlooking the beautiful downtown skyline, a community garden, central air, onsite parking and laundry facilities, support services, and located near bus service lines. The Ferguson Family Health Center, a program of Grand Valley State University Kirkof School of Nursing, provides community-based primary care for residents.
Ferguson Apartments is a referral-based housing community for individuals who income-qualify, are homeless, and have special needs. The referring agency is Salvation Army’s Housing Assessment Program (HAP). Contact them directly at 2-1-1 or 1-800-887-1107 to complete an initial assessment. (Note rent based on 30% of income.)
